“Unfurled”

I decided to make the jump and exhibit one of my prints. Well it was just a digital print until yesterday when the actual print arrived!

There is something about seeing your work printed and huge! It’s exciting and unnerving all in the same breath.

It was also a little like opening a present. I was a bit blown away seeing my work actually printed professionally, and not just a 5×7 or 8×10 as I’ve done for my pictures before.

The exhibit The Groton Open: A Representative Survey of Local Creative Energy is at the Groton Public Library in the Owen Smith Shuman Art Gallery, which should open on November 4, 2026. So my photo, which I was required to title, “Unfurled” will be on display for all to see.

As I think about it, both the photo and the title are oddly appropriate. The flower representing my own inner artist unfurling as I display my artwork for all to see and judge. So very exciting!
